And the winner of the prestigeous Mortimore Art Prize is....

Di King of Healesville.

The Mortimore Art Prize is all about celebrating realism in art. In it's sixth year, the art prize has grown to become an international event this year, boosting an entry from New Zealand. This year's judges, Paul Delprat from the Julian Ashton Art School and Peter Smeeth, Winner 2010 Mortimore Art Prize spent two days deliberating over the finalists. The winners were announced on the weekend at the opening of the exhibition. Di King (pictured above) from Healesville won the Best in Show with her landscape, 'Rocky Escarpment'. If you missed it on the weekend, the works are on display at St Brigids Church in Dubbo daily, 10am-4pm, until the 16th of October 2011.
